Tuwa Walsh, a licensed naturopath, discounts a twenty-year-old prophesy about dying at the hands of a medical doctor. Lifestyle changes and a healthy regime make her barrel headlong into a relationship with Kale McKay, the new family physician in Tangle Harbor, Maine.

Her special gift allows her to timeslip into the past to learn the old ways. Most of Tuwa’s tinctures and medicinals were derived from recipes created by her shaman mother and grandfather—formulated with kelp Tuwa harvests from a secluded grotto in coastal waters.

The results of a check-up reveal Tuwa does indeed have a fatal illness. After consulting her mother and grandfather, she discovers another recipe and an ominous secret. The grotto is home to a sea dragon that feeds on magic like her special gift—a huge problem when Tuwa must risk everything to extract a piece of the creature’s horn to effect a cure.
